In today's culture, increasing awareness of mixed martial arts techniques is having a direct impact upon what officers are likely to face during ground altercations. It is known that 70-90% of fights go to the ground and officers must be prepared for resistive persons who wish to assault them with these techniques. This course is specifically designed for defensive tactics instructors who are looking to add ground fighting into their departmental training programs. This four day course is state certified, and will introduce students to simple and effective ground fighting maneuvers, including: - Basic self defense - Escort positions - Controlling positions - Submission moves - Weapon retention - Take downs - Positional escapes - Gun disarm techniques - Handcuffing skills PLEASE NOTE: Officers are required to wear workout clothing and should also bring their duty belt to class. NO AMMO OR FIREARMS WILL BE ALLOWED INTO THE TRAINING FACILITY. Students must sign waivers on site in order to participate and attend. - All participating students will receive an instructional DVD of the techniques taught during the course. - Pre-requisite: Completion of two day Ground Fighting Control Tactics course, current defensive tactics instructor, or permission of instructor. The GFCT series consists of eight end user classes. The instructor team recommends attending all end user classes before attending instructor level training. To optimize the learning process, it is highly recommended to attend the classes according to the following tier system: Tier 1: GFCT (16 Hour) The Guard Position Tier 2: GFCT: Takedowns and Escorts GFCT: Escaping Neck Restraints GFCT: Escaping Grips and Grabs Tier 3: GFCT: The Mount Position GFCT: The Side Control Position GFCT: The Back Control Position Tier 4: GFCT: Sweeps and Reversals GFCT: Instructor Development **Cancellations for this class must be received 35 days in advance of the first day of class in order to avoid being billed.**
