This one day, eight-hour course, has been developed to provide law enforcement officers with a clear process for developing a retirement plan/exit strategy and practical advice on financial planning. The course will also offer important details about the Illinois Police Pension Act; as it relates to financial planning for officers. Other pre-retirement activities, such as second career transitioning, training, the art of networking, and building a new personal brand will be discussed. Planning for retirement, preparing for the possibility of transitioning into another career, and financial planning are some of the most overlooked issues for police officers. Due to these facts, many financial opportunities and choices that would be highly beneficial to officers during their retirement years are missed.
